Introduction

To keep mechanical equipment and machine parts in good repair according to specifications. Duties include overhaul, laying out, assembling and installing equipment as well as doing preventative mechanical maintenance in and around the plant and on utilities and bulk chemical storage tanks

KEY JOB OUTPUTS

  • Maintenance daily and scheduled and attending to breakdowns,
  • Completion and updating of relevant documentation, modifications and projects
  • Co-Worker effectiveness

TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Fitter and Turner
  • Job Cards (Breakdown and SAP)
  • Knowledge of machining specifications
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawing.
  • Knowledge of gearboxes and pumps overhauling.
  • Have a sound knowledge and understanding of machining on centre lathes

  • N3 Certificate
  • Matric
  • Trade Tested (preferably through Olifantsfontein or equivalent)
  • Qualified Fitter/Turner
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years post apprenticeship in the trade
