This is a position for a person with a relevant grounding that will come from a post-matric qualification in fields as diverse as business administration, education, journalism, language practice or equivalent.
If your qualification has included a combination of English language, law and criminology that would be a small miracle. But even if you have a qualification in, say, history, you will be a candidate who has developed great report writing abilities, an ability to gather information and present it in a factual, logical and coherent manner.
Your language skills
Regardless of your first language, the position calls for an exceptional level of written English.
Proficiency in another official South African language and/or Arabic, French or Portuguese is not a prerequisite – but would enable you to contribute more broadly to the group’s companies from time to time.
Your computer skills
You will have good MS Office skills, to intermediate level in Excel and PowerPoint and to advanced level in Word. You will be a fast and accurate touch typist.
With an eye for detail while always seeing the bigger picture:
You will have good general knowledge and a logical, enquiring mind. – the kind of person who enjoys learning about widely different topics and who is then able to summarize these and explain them to others.
You will be able to identify when key information or step are missing from the reports you receive in order to return them for or ask for additional information – our investigators themselves need support in communicating their findings and observations through your questions!
