Shout-It-Now (S-N) is a non-profit company, registered in South Africa, that has been active for 12 years providing a range of innovative community-based health services aimed at improving HIV prevention and care to achieve epidemic control among high risk South Africans.

S-N currently conducts programmes in HIV testing, PrEP mobilisation/initiation and ongoing support, facilitation of evidence-based behavioural interventions, and support for victims of gender-based violence. We also have experience in delivering TB screening, community-based chronic health screening and initiation of ART.

We are looking for an experienced Regional Medical Advisor, to join our team based in North West. The potential candidate must meet the following minimum criteria:

 

  • Nursing and NIMART Nurse qualification
  • Valid dispensing qualification
  • Live and/or originate from the North West Region (No outside applicants will be considered)
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Own transport is required

This position reports directly to Regional Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

Regional Medical Advisor

Reports to:   Regional Manager

Mandate: –

The Regional Medical Advisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all the medical services for the region.

 Key Responsibilities: –

  • Be the focal point person for all regional medical services, ensuring client centric and high-quality services that align to best practices, DOH and international standards
  • Maintaining and updating all the medical protocols in conjunction with the doctor.
    • PrEP
    • Family Planning
    • HIV Testing
    • STI Screening and Treatment
    • And new ones as needed
  • Provide support to all field nurses as required.
  • Work with other departments to increase uptake of services
  • Coordinate and participate in trainings for all medical personnel
  • Coordinate layering of medical services for clients
  • Work with the Partnership Manager to arrange medical referrals and interventions with other implementing partners.
  • Work with clinics for referrals where required.
  • Attend external meetings as required.
  • Work with other departments to ensure client centric medical services.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with various stakeholders
  • Manage Medicine stock and stock rooms across district.
  • Do RTQII audits on all teams and Ops as required
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Regional Manager

Desired Experience & Qualification

Skills and Experience: –

  • A strong team player with great interpersonal skills
  • Nurse with hands on PrEP, Sexual and Reproductive Health & HIV experience
  • A Public Health qualification is highly desirable
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Nimart and dispensing certificate
  • Good leadership and analytical skills
  • Must be a fast learner and be able to keep abreast with new developments in our programs of interest
  • Must be versatile and strong relationship builder
  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, evenings and special events as needed.
  • Well-organised and detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • This position will require working on-site with the teams sometimes.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for working with other employees.
