Recro Business Services: Assistant Accountant


Recro is a smaller sized accounting, audit, tax and advisory practice based in Panorama, who aims to assist as their core function, helping clients build a business that is an asset and generates them wealth. We are looking to hire an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our bookkeeping department.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Full bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities for a variety of SME and corporate clients
  • Monthly Trial Balance
  • VAT, UIF, PAYE returns
  • Income tax calculations and returns
  • Liaison with SARS – higher level queries.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • BCom / BCompt (or above) or similar relevant qualification in accounting or business, or approved certificate in accounting (essential).
  • Training or experience in income tax and VAT/sales tax, financial statements, audit (desirable).
  • Matric (compulsory).
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and have own transport (advantageous) – travel will be reimbursed at standard rates.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Advanced accounting software.
  • Able to prioritise your workload to meet the client’s needs by assessing situations to determine urgency.
  • Strong time, planning and organisational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills, able to process calls quickly and effectively.
  • Clear and concise oral and written English communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in all MS Office applications and online platforms, fast accurate typing – typing speed min 65 wpm.

  • Meticulous and pay extreme close attention to detail, task orientated, and a desire to achieve results.
  • Must be able to work with absolute confidentiality and ability to implement and suggest systems or better work practises.
  • Focused and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and able to work overtime should the need arise.
  • Takes responsibility for work assigned and shows initiative and ability to undertake self-directed tasks when necessary.
  • Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of members and client to meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems, make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Dynamic, positive, well-presented, and hard-working individual who is a self-starter with good inter-personal skills.

Package & Remuneration

Monthly salary of R8k-12k offered (depending on experience).
