JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for auto electrical maintenance and repairs on all Trackless Mobile Machines (TMM) and
equipment.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Adhere to the breakdown call out procedure
 Conduct pre-use inspections on machinery and equipment
 Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all equipment within area of
responsibility
 Ensure availability of machinery
 Ensure safe storage and a safe environment for batteries
 Follow instructions as per job card and report any defects
 Responsible to monitor and identify spare requirements according to departmental procedure
 Inspect and test machines, equipment and parts for legal compliance
 Inspect front and rear lights to ensure compliance to standards and maintenance schedules
 Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and electronic components in TMMs and equipment
 Maintain and repair air con units on TMMs
 Perform risk assessments (Activity based and Mini)
 Provide input in preparing maintenance and inspection schedules
 Responsible for battery maintenance
 Responsible for good housekeeping in working area
 Responsible for performing lock out when required
 Responsible for the re-wiring of machinery
 Responsible for the upgrading of systems according to standards and procedures
 Strip and repair components
 Strip, analyse and inspect failures to determine root cause and prevent recurrences
 Responsible for identifying and reporting faults when working with hydraulic valves (components) that are electronically operated

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 Grade 10
 N2 National Certificate
 Auto Electrician Trade Test Certificate through a recognised institution and/or apprenticeship**
 3 years post Apprenticeship/Qualification experience as an Auto Electrician

 Valid Drivers’ License

ADVANTAGEOUS:
 Grade 12/N3
 Computer Literate
 Mining Underground experience on TMM Machines – please indicate clearly on your CV
 Experience on TMM Laptop Diagnostic fault findings on equipment – please indicate clearly on your CV
