Introduction

STRATEGIC IMPACT OF THE ROLE:

The role of the copywriter will provide content and copy which will impact the way in which clients receive the brand. This is key to increasing client loyalty and engagement which in turn impacts revenue and overall profitability.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To be responsible for creating content and copy that is entertaining and engaging for all communication channels. Oversees all outgoing written content and copy is of a high standard and accurately represents the brands vision and tone. All content and copy created by must maintain a high standard of consistency, grammatically correct and a distinct voice.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

ANALYSIS AND SCOPING:

  • Meet with General and marketing manager to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job.
  • Perform a thorough review of current copy and content.
  • Ensure content and copy are in line with CI guides.
  • Evaluate copy compared to current and long standing trends in the greater copywriting community.
  • Compare different methods and models available in the industry.
  • Explore creative solutions to copy and content problems.
  • Guide a team to deliver briefs within the scope of business demands.

 

COPYWRITING AND DEVELOPMENT:

  • Evaluate relevance and quality of copy and content.
  • Make recommendations to team and management.
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts,
  • Evaluate relevance and quality of all content produced.
  • Develop, content and copy in coordination with Marketing Communications and implement electronic media solutions in accordance with deadlines.
  • Develop, content and implement electronic media solutions in coordination with Marketing Communications such as presentations in support of business unit sales, asset retention or other objectives.
  • Apply knowledge of CMS platforms and more traditional methods of delivering content to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables while implementing efficient, cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage projects from concept to completion and coordinate appropriate communications of project status as it relates to department and corporate workflow standards.
  • Contribute to the development of business solutions with a focus on appropriate application of creativity, originality and corporate standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • NQF Level 6: Diploma in Copywriting or Journalism and associated fields
