Introduction

Our client, a progressive niche investment company in the retail, telecommunications, distribution and technology services is looking for a sales consultant to join one of their brand companies – the love for technology a must!

This specific division is a leader in the gig economy, helping SA businesses become agile and relevant by connecting them with local communities – Their gig technology platform uplifts communities, provides businesses access to informal markets and creates data assets.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

 

Purpose of Role

You will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth,  customer acquisition levels and profitability.

• Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs • Develop new business with existing clients – Includes upselling, cross-selling, improvements and renewals • Identifies opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; marrying  up solutions offerings with business problems.

• Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential clients; discovering and exploring  opportunities.

• Screens potential business deals by analysingmarket strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; Full  understanding of the sales cycle required.

• Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications;  maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests;  exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

• Direct and manage ongoing customer relationships to ensure total customer satisfaction and further develop  business based on opportunities identified at the customer site.

• In-depth product knowledge, understanding of company capabilities and service, and effectively communicating  all offerings to the client (Sales Process and Contract Management).

• Strong customer relationships and comprehensive understanding of your clients and their activities. • Forecasting, gap analysis, planning and pipeline accuracy.

• Meet assigned targets (Weekly Score Cards) for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned  accounts

• Account profiling; identifying new prospects and new opportunities within existing portfolio. • Manage budgets and implement tight controls.

• Identify and grow opportunities within portfolio and collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure growth  attainment.

• Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to all stakeholders.

• Manage all non-conformances (quality, delivery etc) and report accordingly.

• Preparation and submission of reports management, providing regular input on all account activity, including  status and call reports (call ratio, project planning) on a weekly basis.

• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships

• Generate new business – Includes cold-calling, generating leads and opportunity management

• Serve as point of contact for all client account management matters

• Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction

• Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule

• Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments

• Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential  for new products and services.

• Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends

• Continuously improve through feedback

• Forecast and track key account metrics

• Grow and maintain healthy sales pipeline

• Liaise with Pre-sales to produce accurate quotations and solution proposals

• Liaise with Project Management to ensure projects and installations are done correctly within set time frames • Manage the entire sales process from lead, pre-sales, iterations and closure

• Follow-up on all leads received from the Marketing Team

• Generate proposals for the customers with pricing

• Complete the sale with the customer

• Engage with the relevant Technical Specialists throughout project and feed any necessary feedback to the  customer

• Once project is complete, ensure the billing and invoicing is done

• Create and complete an account engagement template for all leads passed to sales (Main contact, key decision  makers, number of touch points, time engaged, business issues, technology profile)

• Attend marketing call out days (remotely) to obtain new leads

• Maintain and continuously use CRM system.

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

 

Ideally having 3 to 5 yearss experience in the technology arena, as this candidate will be be selling four value propositions to businesses requiring their tech portal

90% of the role is the generation of new business.

This success candidate will be offered a solid basic with a lucrative commission scheme
