Candidates wishing to apply for the position of Head of School are required to submit:

The main function of the position of Head of School is that of academic leadership. This includes the management of all programmes offered by the School with a specific focus on quality assurance, planning and execution of all deliverables, academic development of staff and management of stakeholder relations. The Head of School has full accountability for student success and academic deliverables of the School across different modes of delivery (contact learning, distance learning and distance learning online).
•Provide academic leadership and management of the School by:
oparticipating in the creation of high-quality scholarship including teaching and learning, research, and community engagement, as well as programme development and student support.
oleading and managing programme delivery by academic staff.
•Forge and strengthen links with industry and relevant professional networks in order to establish and maintain academic credibility and encourage student growth.
•Establish and maintain the brand, profile and reputation of the School through academic citizenship, as well as internal and external engagement.
oDevelop the academic strategy and implementation plan for the school including
Teaching and learning
Collaboration and networking
oParticipate in the development of new programmes for accreditation and curriculum material development
•Network with industry, stakeholders and other Higher Education providers to:
oPromote the School nationally
oEnable transfer of credits through aligned programmes with other institutions
oSecure endorsements for Milpark’s programmes
oIdentify subject matter experts or external moderators for modules
oCreate opportunities for future employment of graduates
•Develop and implement a student support plan for the School aligned with Milpark’s strategic plan for student support and success
•Implement and monitor the success of the strategy and action plan, taking corrective action as needed
•Implement student support and retention plans and positive student experience initiatives within the School
•Develop and implement an alumni programme aligned with Milpark’s strategic alumni plan
oManage and quality assure performance standards of all School staff, taking corrective action as needed
oSupport the development of skills and advancement of professional knowledge of School staff
oDrive staff wellness initiatives in the School
oImplement approved talent retention strategies for School staff
oParticipate in the recruitment and selection process of new staff as needed
oPlan resource allocation for all aspects of running School programmes
•Operations and Administration
oOversee compliance with policies, legislative frameworks and company governance structures by School staff
oManage School operating budgets and correct deviations
oParticipate in actively marketing the School
oManage efficient student administration
oAs Head of School participate in Milpark’s Institutional imperatives as required
