Participate in annual strategic planning sessions with executive management in order to identify actions aimed at addressing the technology and facilities needs of Medihelp.
Responsible for the development of a technology infrastructure plan encompassing aspects such as systems, cyber technology, and network architectures, acquisition plans, standards, migration strategies, and contingency aspects of the technology infrastructure.
Creates an infrastructure that is able to support the required products, services and delivery mechanisms. Monitors the quality and effectiveness of security systems and ensures these are in line with industry standards. Provides reports on status of information security.
Establishes and directs policies and practices to maximise return on assets and minimise risk. Ensure effective risk management and appropriate preventative actions and measures.
Ensure information and cyber security, integrity and availability through structured access, backup and restore procedures and manage enterprise information and risk environments through:
Responsible for the disaster recovery plan (DRP) and procedures and the annual testing of the DRP;
Responsible for the review and execution of the IT business continuity plan; and
Responsible for the effective functioning, maintenance and conforming to standards of the computer room infrastructure and environment, including the fire prevention and UPS/GENSET systems.
Directs, co-ordinates, assesses and analyses information security activities in the organisation.
Direct and manage strategic business plans, schedules and procedures for the Technology and Facilities business unit;
Ensure effective and secure enterprise architecture;
Ensure system access, security, availability and integrity;
Deliver business and technology innovation and anticipate change;
Investigate, direct and manage possible outsourcing functions.
Plan and manage the application and utilisation of computer equipment, systems and procedures through the following actions:
Determine current and future IT needs and consult with business users regarding their needs
Provide users with advice regarding IT related plans and topics; and
Analyse the technology requirements of users and offer solutions
Procurement of all equipment, software and services; and
Direct and manage the development, maintenance and renewal of IT facilities and processes.
Identify and apply the best technologies and secure the availability of technical skills to ensure that Medihelp keeps up with industry trends.
Prepare, review and manage maintenance and service contracts with external suppliers.
Implement, manage and comply with the IT Governance Charter and IT Governance framework.
Manage the Facilities, Networks, Helpdesk and IT Operations divisions effectively to ensure harmonious functioning and interaction.
