JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for all aspects of financial management, This role builds the capacity of the Matrox and other property companies finance team.
Oversees the day to day work of the finance department and is responsible for the effective use and deployment of staff and financial resources.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

•Produce and distribute monthly management reports to agreed time scales
•Produce detailed quarterly cash flow forecasts
•Produce financial reports detailing actual expenditure against forecast to agreed timescales
•Produce required financial reports for members of the team and Board of Directors
•Produce annual financial reports and statements to agree time scales Develop annual budgets Tax planning, including VAT related matters if required.
•Maintain current standing with all mandated local tax and benefits registrations and requirements, including submissions of payments and reports.
•Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting.
•Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process
•Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company account
•Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all teams

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

1.Degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
2.Qualified Accountant (CTA with completed articles) with relevant experience may also be considered.
3.Experience in the preparation and finalisation of accounts in accordance with current South African regulations.
4.Background in Property management will be beneficial
5.Knowledge of strategic and financial planning including activity costing, benchmarking and KPIs.
6.Experience in budget preparation and reporting.
7.Experience in goods and services procurement processes.
8.Excellent computer literacy is essential especially in MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel, MDA property management system and Pastel would be beneficial
9.Proficient user of finance software.
10.Knowledge of current practice of internal auditing
11.Highly numerate and able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial data to produce reports which can be understood by non-financial colleagues
