A vacancy exists in the Package Boiler Business Unit in Isando for a Service Technician reporting to the Service Manager. The successful candidate should be willing to travel regularly (local and abroad) and willing to work beyond normal working hours when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas

 

  • Maintenance and Servicing of Existing Package Boiler Plants
  • Commissioning of New Package Boiler Plants
  • Boiler control panel upgrades
  • Field equipment calibrations (Pressure, Flow, Temp and Level TX and switches)
  • Electrical Motor Inspections and services
  • Sourcing and installing electrical/instrument and appropriate spare parts
  • Variable speed drive configurations
  • Field equipment configuration and set up
  • Carry out detailed technical investigations
  • PLC Controls

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Qualifications

  • N4 Electrical Engineering/Millwright
  • Trade Test Electrical Engineering/Millwright
  • Unendorsed drivers’ licence
  • SAGA Membership will be advantageous

 

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years Technical Studies
  • 5 Years in service training
  • Boiler servicing and commissioning on John Thompson Boilers will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of package boilers
  • Computer literacy
