A vacancy exists in the Boiler and Environmental Business Unit, and Industrial Watertube Boiler Business Unit, for a person who works well with others, who has initiative and drive and is able to work under pressure. This position also requires extensive travelling to the various sites, mainly day trips. The main purpose of the position is to provide HR support to various sites in the form of employee engagement, recruitment, industrial relations, HR administration, labour broker compliance audits and coordinating training needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure that there are sound employee relations on all sites under your control, by doing site visits, providing support to managers and employees and resolving all queries within two weeks.
• Create an open communication platform for employees to express their views.
• Recruit Staff in line with company policy and employment equity plan.
• Monitor the recruitment of labour broker staff and ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policy and legislation or MEIBC Main Agreement.
• Ensure that all staff receive company HR Induction.
• Provide industrial relations support to managers and ensure compliance with the grievance procedure, disciplinary procedure, MEIBC Main Agreement and the LRA or any applicable laws.
• Provide input into learning programs and assist with identifying programs.
• To administer and control the HR Administration under your area of control in terms of LDC’s, employee files, leave, benefits etc
• Audit the labour brokers to ensure that they comply with SLA, company policies and procedures, MEIBC Main Agreement, LRA , BCEA etc

Desired Experience & Qualification

• HR Degree
• Labour Relations Qualification (Advantageous)

• Candidates must have industry-specific experience and be familiar with the company’s product
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in an HR Generalist Role, strong admin, recruitment and Strong IR exposure
• VIP payroll experience will be an advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
