G.U.D. Holdings: Maintenance Fitter and Turner

Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman, the Maintenance Fitter is required to out all preventive and reactive maintenance work on production machinery as is required to maintain machine production rate and product quality. The Maintenance Fitter also suggests and implements modifications to machines which will result in improved rate of production or product quality. The Maintenance Fitter is required to meet the highest standards of safety at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities

·        Carry out section checks in his/her allocated work area with a view to observing and rectifying any condition which might affect the life and/or reliability of machines.·        Identify bottle necks and/or other conditions where small modifications/improvements will assist Production in achieving their goals.·        To ensure that machinery in his/her work cell specifically, but also throughout the factory, is kept in the best possible condition with regard to housekeeping, mechanical condition and safety. ·        To perform all maintenance work as instructed by the Foreman.·       Design and/or modify pneumatic & hydraulic circuits and submit sketches to the Drawing office if required.·       Where necessary use the machines in the machine shop such as lathes, grinder, milling machines, boring machines etc to make up or repair production machine components.

Desired Experience & Qualification

·        Minimum N 3·        Recognized Trade (Trade tested) Fitter and Turner·        Knowledge of Mechanical and Hydraulic presses·        5 years experience in a manufacturing environment ·        Experience in trouble shooting on hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
