This position is responsible for the overall financial performance of the Plant Department, all fixed and mobile plant, as well as the performance of assets including the processes, systems and controls requirement to monitor and track financial and asset performance.
Manage, prepare and submit accurate monthly Management Accounting pack and financial reports – performance on activities, categories of equipment and sites.
Assist with management reporting for decision-making, including capital project appraisal, evaluation and post-implementation analysis and reports to maintain all fixed and mobile plant costing reports and programs – EAM.
STATUTORY & POLICY REQUIREMENTS
Comply with relevant fixed and mobile plant accounting policies and procedures to comply with IFRS, Tax Act, Companies Act and international legislation.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (Income Tax Act, Value Added Tax Act, international legislation etc.) including legislative amendments and industry best practices.
Manage direct reports with respect to all people management functions.
Appropriately hold employees and subcontractors accountable for delivery.
Ensure all staff are compliant on safety, training and health requirements.
Analyse and quantify the return and performance metrics proposed versus actual.
Prepare and control internal hire rates in consultation with Operational Plant Management.
Develop and implement a TCO tracking tool and system to ensure all assets perform to required standards and maintenance costs.
TRANSACTIONAL SHARED SERVICES
Responsible for complete and accurate fixed and mobile plant costing information and accounting records (including plant life cycle costing information).
Review and prepare reconciliations of fixed and mobile plant life cycle costing information.
