Introduction

Our client based in Sandton is seeking to appoint a Warehouse and Procurement Manager to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Warehouse & Procurement Manager

 

Warehouse Management:

  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency with correct stock levels and processes to ensure that the business can deliver to all stakeholders. This will involve supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
  • Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, as well as picking and dispatch processes.
  • Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
  • Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed.
  • Meet regularly with staff and management to review, analyse, and develop actionable plans for productivity, stock loss prevention, stock holding levels, slow moving stock, obsolete stock and general warehouse matters.
  • Meet with the relevant production staff regarding planning of runs, stock levels of labels, bottles and caps, and ensuring stock holding for corporate orders is managed efficiently.
  • Plan and manage weekly and monthly stock take in consultation with the finance department and management.
  • Develop systems to ensure that all warehouse processes introduced by management are enforced and implemented.

 

 

Procurement Management:

  • Liaise with key company employees (sales and operations) to determine their product and service needs.
  • Monitor business trends and analyse sales volumes to ensure stock holding levels are correct.
  • Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company.
  • Identifies and researches potential new suppliers.
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.
  • Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production.
  • Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement.
  • Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages.
  • Supervising a team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary.
  • Utilizing a purchase order system where suppliers receive authorized PO’s, and on delivery of goods the revenant PO, invoice and other supporting documents are supplied to finance for settlement. Oversight to ensure this process runs smoothly and that suppliers are paid timeously.
  • Analyse invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered.
  • Import process management for all equipment and other products.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive.
  • Vendor management including the ongoing monitoring and maintaining of an up to date procurement supplier info list with supporting BEE certificates for our annual verification.
  • Provide updates about procurement related progress and potential delays on a daily basis to the relevant managers.

  • Knowledge of Supply Management Software (Database Management, Inventory Management, Financial Analysis, Point of Sale, Procurement, Project Management, and Enterprise Resource Planning, and General Office Programs),
  • Specialised Industry Knowledge,
  • Experience as a Procurement Buyer,
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain/ Procurement & Warehouse Supervisory Skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within Procurement environment OR
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within Supply Chain environment
  • Minimum 3-5 years Warehousing Experience –
  • Excellent at working with Lead times and planning
