BDO Johannesburg has a vacancy for an Junior IFRS Technical Manager reporting to the IFRS Technical Manager.

Specification
The primary purpose of the Junior IFRS Technical Manager role is assistance to providing technical accounting support to audit and advisory teams (internally) as well as developing material and presenting training to internal staff and external clients. Focus will be specifically on technical accounting matters impacting Audit.

Principle Outcomes
•Research and prepare draft opinions on the application of IFRS/IFRS for SMEs
•Review financial statements ensuring compliance with IFRS
•Assist audit department with quick IFRS and IFRS for SMEs queries
•Assist the firm with Companies Act queries and compliance therewith
•Review financial statements to ensure compliance with the Companies Act and JSE Listing Requirements
•Update technical IFRS audit templates as and when required
•Assist with research and topical matters
•Prepare training material
•Present technical accounting staff/client training
•Monitoring of time charged to WIP codes for accounting projects/audit support provided to all teams
•Frequent involvement with the IFRS Technical Associate Director will be required

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who would be:
•Able to make decisions regarding acceptable accounting treatment in fairly straightforward accounting queries
•Able to develop and put together accounting training material
•Able to research new accounting standards and publications and summarise internal views and consultations

Requirements
•B.Com Honours; CA (SA)
•Newly Qualified
•A sound knowledge of and exposure to all IASB accounting standards.
•A wide general knowledge of legislation and regulations that could affect financial reporting
