Introduction

Glen Douglas based in Henley-on-Klip, Gauteng has a vacancy for a Fitter.

Duties & Responsibilities

The person will be responsible for:

  • Meet with maintenance foreman and production staff to discuss maintenance/engineering breakdowns in the plant.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools as well as measuring instruments, and reassemble equipment.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of Conveyor Belts, Gearboxes, Fluid drives, Bearings, Pumps, Crushers (54/74 Allis Chalmbers, APKV 0806 Hazemag, Kawasaki Z1500 Cone, HP3 Cone, VSI Crushers) and Screens.
  • Perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate or N3 Fitting qualification
  • Have an Applicable trade test as a Fitter
  • 7 – 10 years non-negotiable stable working experience as a Fitter.
  • Fault finding and repair on mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Knowledge of and applicable skills in plant maintenance, repair and installation of equipment.

 

Be prepared to work after hours and do standby. Will be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Will be able to work independently as well in a team environment.

The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
