Position Title : Manager: Customer Intergration

Position Purpose:
Compile and manage industry and customer research and information that will give Transnet a better understanding of strategic demand and to grow revenue.
The purpose of this role is to maintain and coordinate current operational and financial information across all Transnet Service offerings to provide a consolidated Transnet view of the revenue line and consistent tracking mechanisms, as well as provide input into the development of new ideas and initiatives to solve gaps in service offerings and to better meet client needs.
Provide support in implementation of appropriate governance processes per commodity in line with Transnet policy, and assist in coordinating, tracking and engaging at stakeholder meetings to support customer growth and Freight solutions teams.

Position outputs:
-Consolidate input into the implementation of the Transnet Commodity and marketing strategy.
-To be aligned across the divisions as per contractual splits, tariffs and volumes. Centralised filling of supporting documentation for the year-end or contractual review and or audit requirements.
-Supporting in drafting of notification to customers to Force Majeure Final recording based on technical reports and updating impact on commercial position.
-Support in consolidating monthly Transnet report on total losses. Alignment between functions and divisions relate to internal and external SLA’s on allocation of tonnage. Include information on LE as above.
-Compile and consolidate monthly EXCO reporting on LE, latest estimate volumes and revenue, relate to contract and budget. Forecast of any projected shortfalls against guarantee with associated financial/penalty implication.
-Support in monitoring of all customer contracts for; Breakpoints in tariff, key obligations, key dates, macro-economic indices updated etc., Ensure alignment between Transnet divisions and customer.
-Support implementation of integrated commodity management protocols across Transnet Operating divisions.
-Support to equip all key account managers and support staff across OD’s with a continuous improvement mind-set and capacity to ensure that all deviations from standards are identified, investigated, prioritised and dealt within the framework of a standard and reputable process improvement methodology.
-Alignment of integrated engagement plans and protocols for commodity managers across OD’s.
-Provide input with regards to performance goals, monitoring customer satisfaction reviewing monthly account reports and addressing performance issues with specific ODs.
-Support in managing Executive Engagement between Transnet and Customers in order to maintain alignment on strategic industry issues.
-Gather base data to support development and implementation of a network based pricing system to support Commercial Solutions that will enable optimisation of all Transnet Rail & Port infrastructure.
-Support in Management of collaborative Projects between Transnet and industry to foster corporation and relationship building.
-Support innovative commercial solutions development to ensure protection of the existing customer base, increase revenue and volumes in line with MDS targets
-Support in integrated annual demand volume validation with industry.
-Assist in annual alignment of demand with MDS targets, Transnet freight demand models, Transnet capacity planning teams, operating divisions LE’s and budgets.

Qualifications & Experience:
Matric, undergraduate degree/ or post graduate degree in finance or relevant business qualification.
Other job related qualifications are advantageous
A minimum 8 years’ applicable experience.
At least 2 years project management experience
Proven track record in commercial management
Proven leadership track record.
