Duties & Responsibilities

Core Purpose:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance activities are carried out. To perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plastic injection moulding machines.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain Plastic Injection Molding Machinery
  • Analyzes electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and operational problems of plastic injection moulding machines
  • Plan for and take corrective action as needed
  • Review production schedule and make equipment changes as needed
  • Troubleshoot and test equipment to check operations
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plastic injection moulding machines
  • Make preventative maintenance checks and inspection of assigned equipment
  • Repair and diagnose problems

Must be able to work shifts, Weekend, Call-outs and overtime when required

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements:

Matric Certificate
Valid SA recognised Trade Test Papers (Millwright)
PLC Experience would be an advantage
Familiarity of plastics manufacturing, injection moulding and extrusion is required
2-5 Years of Experience as a Maintenance Technician
Understanding of injection moulding machine control calibration requirements and hands on tasks for actual calibrations
Understanding of specific repair techniques for injection moulding machines
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common technical instructions and blueprints relative to Plastic Injection Moulding machinery
Good Written & verbal Communication Skills
Ability to work independently
Handle pressure and Deadline driven
Well organized & attention to detail
Must have a valid code 08 drivers license
Must be able to do electrical or mechanical installation work outside the injection moulding department.
Wiremen’s license would be advantage.
