Specification
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be working with the Marketing team to market the BDO brand and more specifically the BDO industry sectors to help the firm achieve its growth objectives.

Reporting to the Brand Manager, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will inter alia be responsible for:
•Marketing – sectors: managing and driving all aspects of Marketing for selected BDO sectors. This will include the development of marketing plans that encompass PR/media, advertising, events, sponsorships and exhibitions, content development for various channels, briefing social media campaigns, video content.
•Business development: occasional assistance with large business pitches
•Brand – playing a key role in managing the BDO brand in South Africa, ensuring alignment and consistency with the service lines and sectors you will manage
•Be prepared to pitch in to help the team with other internal and external campaigns

Requirements
Qualifications:
-BA/BCom in Marketing Communications/Public Relations/Corporate Communication

Experience:
-A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a corporate marketing department or marketing agency
-Experience in a professional services environment and/or PR agency would be a plus.

Competencies:
-Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
-Must be skilled in client service management and content management
-Must be able to work on your own, with attention to detail, think out of the box, work with small budgets to be creative
-Comfortable working with and presenting to senior members of the business, including EXCO
-Socially aware, team player and prepared to pitch in on all aspects of Marketing as required
-Budget management

Other
-Must have own car and driver’s licence
-Occasional travel to the regions in South Africa to oversee implementation of marketing plans for the above
